Your letters: Singh must earn a seat in Parliament

NDP leader Singh sets his national strategy, Feb. 11

Concerning Jagmeet Singh’s hesitation to run for a seat in parliament. It seems to me that he just wants to play at being leader, which will end with him running the NDP into the ground at the next election. He should run for a seat now, even in a safe riding. If he wins, he gains credibility, and if he loses, it gives the party time to find a new leader before the 2019 election.

To sit on the sidelines, spouting party rhetoric outside parliament, is no way to gain the trust of the people you supposedly want to lead. If they ever want to form a government, the NDP should demand it.
